The Mustang Continues to Rule the American Muscle Car Roost

There's no other sports car quite like the Ford Mustang. A perennial favorite, the Mustang has been racing through drivers' imaginations since before Steve McQueen tore through the streets of San Francisco. Now this iconic American sports car has received refreshing updates for the 2018 model year, making it even more compelling than ever.

The 2018 Ford Mustang has received a subtle, yet powerful exterior makeover. While the classic proportions are still visible, the overall stance appears more athletic thanks to a wider mouth and lower hood and grille. Still offered as either a coupe or a convertible, the Mustang remains a vehicle that's easily identified at first sight, without any need to look for badging.

There are three trim levels available, each of which offers its own specific engine. The base Mustang features a standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that produces 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, while the GT comes with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. While its performance number might makes one question whether it should be restricted to running on the race tracks, the Shelby GT350 is powered by a street-legal 5.2-liter V8 engine that pushes out 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque.

We invite you to visit our Nokomis showroom and take a test drive in one of our 2018 Ford Mustang models. At Matthews Currie Ford Co, we're proud to serve Ford drivers from the Venice, FL, Bradenton and Sarasota areas.
